Lust's faith in womankind was badly shattered when he went home to Ohio; first person he saw when he disembarked was his woman, wearing his $400 twinkler, walking down the street with a 4-F. Lust came back without even calling up the damsel, and is having his buddies in the security office write a withering letter to ask for his jewelry investment back.

Analysis:
This article shows how much men with 4-F deferments were looked down upon. It was seemingly the ultimate insult when Lust saw "his woman" with a 4-F.
